About This Project
Architectural shingle re-roof on a large three story mountain home in Poplar Ridge, a gated community in South Asheville 28803. Gray shingles cover a complex roof with many hips, valleys, gables and dormers, plus the attached three car garage and the roofs over the rear decks. Drone photos taken in the fall show the front courtyard, the back of the home, top down views of the roof and the wooded neighborhood around it.
The Home and the Roof
This big white mountain home sits on a wooded hillside in Poplar Ridge, a gated mountain community in South Asheville, with a curved paved drive, a three car garage and three stories of decks stepping down the back toward the views. The roof is about as busy as they come. There are a lot of hips, valleys, gables and dormers tying into each other, a stone chimney, and separate roof sections over the garage wing and the rear decks. Every one of those intersections is a place water wants to get in, especially with the heavy rain and leaf fall up on the ridges.
What We Did
We put a new architectural shingle roof on the whole house in a gray that fits the white siding and stone. That meant working each section of the main roof, the garage wing with its dormers, and the lower roofs over the decks so it all matches. We paid close attention to the valleys, the dormer tie ins and the flashing around the chimney, since those are the spots that take the most water on a roof with this many angles.
The Finished Result
The top down drone shots show straight courses and clean valleys across the whole roof, and the gray holds up great against the fall color around the house. From the street and from the back decks it all reads as one finished roof. The work is backed by our 10 year workmanship warranty.
